Accessibility Statement

Our commitment
House of Bamboo wants every guest to be able to use our website and enjoy our venue. We are working to make hobtiki.com accessible to people with disabilities, and we treat accessibility as ongoing work rather than a one-time task.
Standard we aim for
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines are the widely accepted standard for making web content more accessible to people with a range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive disabilities.
What we have done
As of the date above, our site includes the following accessibility features:
- Descriptive alternative text for images that carry meaning, and empty alternative text for purely decorative ones, so screen readers are not cluttered.
- Full keyboard operability — every interactive control, including the photo gallery, can be reached and activated without a mouse.
- A clearly visible focus indicator showing where you are on the page while using a keyboard.
- A “skip to main content” link for people who navigate by keyboard or screen reader.
- Proper dialog semantics for our menu, Hours, Location, and About panels, with focus moved into each panel when it opens and returned when it closes, and the Escape key to close.
- Respect for the operating system’s “reduce motion” setting, which turns off our animations and the drifting smoke effect.
- Text and background color combinations chosen to meet contrast requirements.
- Descriptive labels on buttons and links, and a titled map frame.
Known limitations
We want to be honest about where gaps may remain:
- Our reservation booking is provided by OpenTable and our map by OpenStreetMap. We do not control the accessibility of that third-party content. If you have trouble booking through the widget, please email reservations@hobtiki.com and we will take your reservation directly.
- Our site is intentionally cinematic and image-rich. Some of our menu section headings are hand-lettered artwork; where that is the case we provide text alternatives. If any part of our food and drink menu is difficult to read, contact us and we will send you a plain-text version.
Alternatives if you hit a barrier
If any part of this website prevents you from getting what you need, please contact us and we will provide the information or complete the transaction for you another way. We want to hear about it.

We aim to respond to accessibility questions within three business days. When you write, it helps if you can tell us the page you were on, what you were trying to do, and what assistive technology you were using.
Feedback and ongoing work
We review this site for accessibility as we make changes to it, and we welcome feedback. If you tell us about a barrier, we will work to fix it and will offer you an alternative way to get what you need in the meantime.
